what’s on this week

Monday September 21 is International Day of Peace (United Nations), and also World Gratitude Day!  As we give thanks and gratitude at the Autumn Equinox. This Autumn Equinox (Sept. 22) we are reminded of the importance to give thanks, gratitude and appreciation for all the blessings, and perhaps “silver linings” that we all may have received. It has been an exceptionally trying time for so many of us as we navigate each day. So give thanks for everything you have.

Sound meditation is one of the many ways you can tap into your limitless potential and create your future and reality.

Gongs, crystal bowls and chimes are used in  the Sound healing sessions. Gongs help to clear away the lower energies and are ideal tools for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and to break up emotional blockages. When played, gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system (heavy arms and legs as well as a regulated heart rate during a gong meditation are a sign of the re-calibration).

The Gong generates powerful multi-dimensional ripples of sound that grow into waves and bathe your entire body in streams of sound. These have been described as otherworldly, rhythmic, generating a sense of being on vacation, unfathomable, being in a time of no time, purifying, magical, profound, out of body, celestial and harmonic…just to name a few.

The sounds the crystal singing bowls emit are tuned to a specific chakra, have a deep resonance, and they will literally
make your cells dance in vibration and clear your chakras, your mind and heighten your perception.

The didgeridoo will be used in the Sunday session at the Uniting church in Scarborough. The didge is a very mysterious instrument and has a very grounding sound. It produces powerful low frequency vibrations which can be directed at an individual to help clear blockages and instill a profound sense of peace and connection. Just sitting in the presence of a didgeridoo while it is being played can be a very earthing and relaxing experience.

Other benefits of Sound healing are:

  • -Deep relaxation
  • -Increased feelings of happiness, joy, and peace
  • -Better quality sleep
  • -Lessening feelings of anger and fear
  • – Ease of chronic pain and inflammation
  • -Stress release and profound calmness
  • -Enhanced physical energy and mental clarity
  • -Harmonization of body, mind & spirit
  • -Increased levels of melatonin: a hormone associated with relaxation and healing
  • -Release of endorphins: self-created opiates that work as “natural pain relievers”
