Getting Unstuck

Do you have the same thoughts going around and around in your head? Do you find that you can’t completely move on from someone, or, do you find that when you see someone (an ex lover) that they still annoy you? Here are a few tips that may help you:

1. SURRENDER – stop everything, pause and breathe, release all resistance and attachment. Let the physical body relax by breathing, deeply. Lie down so you can feel the tension in your body, usually ‘stuckness’ is caused by a fear (conscious or unconscious) of letting go of something which is preventing what is needed for you to move forward. Do a relaxation exercise (while lying down) which contracts and relaxes each muscle of the body and just allow everything to be released from your physical body.

2. FEEL – your feelings. Breathe, feel your body, breathe some more, breathe all the way down to your toes. Wiggle your toes, breathe deeply, breathe out and force the last bit of air out of your lungs. What are you feeling? Feel it, express it, a good cry opens up so much space and leaves you lighter.

3. RELAX – do something you love and can fully engage with which will switch off your mind chatter eg. reading. Practice a skill that takes up all of your focus.

4. OPEN yourself up to new possibilities. If you do the same thing you will get the same result! Get out of your comfort zone and try something different, or make your daily routine different. You will be surprised at how easy this really is. We are creatures of habit – routines, wake up have breakfast, go to work, come home, have dinner etc. Try changing what you do eg. go to work a different way.

2016 is the year for really letting go of things that no longer serve you. Seriously do you want to be carrying the same baggage in 12 months time or do you want your load to be lighter? Only you can make this happen.
